Bottlenose dolphins, pilot whales, Atlantic spotted dolphins, rough-toothed dolphins, common dolphins, Bryde`s whales, Sei whale
In July 2022 we encountered at least seven different species of whales and dolphins on our responsible whale watching tours off La Gomera.
The following species were observed on our tours in June:
- bottlenose dolphin
- pilot whale
- Atlantic spotted dolphin
- common dolphin
- Bryde`s whale / baleen whale
- Sei whale
Like last month, we were spoiled with many baleen whale sightings in July. Mostly Bryde’s whales, but we were also able to identify at least one sei whale. The resident pilot whales showed up less often than usual in July, but there were nice encounters.
Our guests were also able to observe four more different dolphin species and their different behaviours. Particularly exciting was the sighting of a newborn bottlenose dolphin. Our guest Kerstin provided us with a great photo of it.
A couple of sea turtles were also spotted on our tours.
