Pilot whales, Bottlenose dolphins, Spotted dolphins, Rough-toothed dolphins, Striped dolphins, Cuvier’s beaked whales, Blainville’s beaked whales, Loggerhead turtles
We have recently seen the following whale and dolphin species on our whale watching tours off La Gomera:
- Pilot whales (Indian pilot whales)
- Bottlenose dolphins
- Atlantic spotted dolphins
- Rough-toothed dolphins
- Cuvier’s beaked whales
- Blainville’s beaked whales
- Striped dolphins
- Loggerhead turtles
The sighting rate was over 90%!
In November, another very successful internship course took place with our co-operation partner M.e.e.r. e.V. under the direction of Tina Sommer. Below are a few impressions.
Unfortunately, as every year at this time, we also had to collect some juveniles from the yellow-billed shearwater family…
There was also plenty of rubbish at sea.
Sometimes, unfortunately, in connection with sea turtles. We were able to free the one in the photo below and hand it over to the relevant authorities. She was badly injured. We hope she recovers and can be released back into her habitat!
