Common dolphin, Spotted dolphin, Pilot whales, Bottlenose dolphins, Beaked whale
We have recently seen the following whale and dolphin species on our whale watching tours off La Gomera:
- Common dolphin
- Beaked whale (unidentified)
- Atlantic spotted dolphin
- Pilot whales (Short-finned pilot whales)
- Bottlenose dolphins
So many species in such a short time. Unfortunately, we often only saw them for a brief moment, but we were always able to spot 2 common dolphins and 3 beaked whales.
We experienced pure positive energy again with the spotted dolphins. They showed us their acrobatic jumping skills and their perfect hunting techniques.
A large pod of bottlenose dolphins was hunting off Valle Gran Rey and continued southward. What a sight!
There were also many pilot whales out and about, sometimes a few families together. We were able to watch them socializing and resting.
The sighting rate for this period is 90%.
